The inaugural session of the highly anticipated 2024 DNA World course launched today, marking the beginning of a captivating journey into the realm of molecular biology.
Participants delved into comprehensive lectures and practical exercises covering fundamental topics such as "Introduction to World of DNA & Nucleic Acids: The Foundation of Molecular Biology" and "Back to the Basics - Measurements and Pipetting: Sterile Techniques." They also embarked on a field trip to sample collection points within the Center, enhancing their understanding of real-world applications.

Central to the curriculum was a thorough examination of DNA, elucidating its essential components and pivotal role in our existence. Theoretical discussions on micro pipetting and DNA extraction paved the way for hands-on laboratory experiences, allowing attendees to actively engage in scientific procedures. Notably, participants were empowered to select their preferred plant samples for DNA extraction, adding a personalized touch to their learning journey.

Amidst the educational fervor, the Director of DNALC, Nigeria, Prof. George Udeh, extended a warm welcome to all attendees via video call. Expressing his vision for advancing the frontiers of molecular biology in the country, Prof. Udeh encouraged participants to remain steadfast in their pursuit of knowledge in the field.

The commencement of the three days 2024 DNA World course which will come to a climax on 1st March signals a promising step forward in fostering scientific expertise and innovation, underscoring the importance of hands-on learning and collaborative efforts in advancing molecular biology research.
